129 years ago a legend was born. He was a freedom fighter, a jurist, an economist, a social reformer and a wonderful politician. He has engraved his name in the history of India whether it be the freedom struggle or the fight for equal rights. Being a Jurist Dr. B.R Ambedkar played a major role in building the constitution of India. Also a vast role in starting the Dalit Buddhist movement in India.
Dr B.R Ambedkar was born in a military man’s family and being the child of an army man he had learned discipline from the very early age. As he grew in the year of 1907 he passed his matriculation examination and in the following year he enrolled into Elphinstone College becoming the first from his Mahar caste to get into such institution which was affiliated to the University of Bombay, later he did his Post Graduate from the Columbia University from The United States of America by preparing his thesis on Ancient Indian Commerce. In 1916 he did another thesis on the topic of National Dividend of India – A Historic and Analytical Study, for another M.A.
As we all citizen of India live with principles of democracy, fraternity, equality and socialism that is taught to us by the constitution, it was the visionary power of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar who volunteered for the structure of the constitution and with the vision of uniformity discipline in the state for all religions and caste equality. Being a Politician he also observed that the constitution while in the process of drafting in the article 370 he had opposed which was to grant special status to the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Being a Politician he has been very much of a person that someone can get inspiration from, he has been a motivational and a revolutionary politician at the same time playing a vital role in Dalit Buddhist movement. Being a visionary, he has contributed a lot for the betterment of society and the Citizen of India. We shall continue to draw inspiration and ideas from his vision and thoughts.
